2022 NATIONAL POINTS PROGRAM

GENERAL

  1. The award year includes sanctioned competitions between December 1, 2018 and November 30, 2019.
  2. Only WSDAC Members in good standing are eligible for these awards. Chapter members are only eligible
    if they are WSDAC Members.
  3. Only scores from WSDAC sanctioned competitions (listed on the WSDAC website) will be recorded which
    include:
    1. Chapter shows with a WSDAC approved judge (as per Rulebook WSD 15), and
    2. WSDAC approved Permit shows with a WSDAC approved judge (as per Rulebook WSD 15).
  4. Awards will be announced and sent to competitors in January 2020.
  5. All tests must be ridden in an arena that is the regulation 20 x 40 meters or 20 x 60 meters.

WSD 16.01 National Points Program Rulebook

  1. Scores earned by Members during the year at sanctioned WSDAC shows (WSD 16.03) are eligible to be recorded by WSDAC.
  2. The National Points Program includes scores earned at any sanctioned shows from December 1 to November 30. Awards will be announced and handed out by January to allow WSDAC time to verify standings and organize awards.
  3. Scores are recorded by division (Pro, Amateur, Junior, and Gaited) and Level (Introductory, Basic, and Level 1 to 4).
  4. WSDAC members must declare on their membership profile which one of the three (3) divisions of Pro, Amateur or Junior (WSD 12.02 1) their scores will be tracked in for the year (see WSD 12.02 4). If there are any changes to your division, it is the member’s responsibility to inform WSDAC.
  5. Peripheral classes as per WSD 14 (Freestyle and Ride-Ability) are not eligible for this program.

HORSE/RIDER REQUIREMENTS

  1. Riders must be Members in good standing of WSDAC.
  2. WSDAC recommends that riders have their horses registered with WSDAC. Horse registration is at no
charge and horses will receive a lifetime registration number that will stay with the horse. Any scores earned by the horse/rider combination will be eligible to be recorded in WSDAC’s Horse Performance Program.

AWARDS CRITERIA AND TABULATION

  1. Awards are based on scores earned in one level and in one division (freestyles not included) for horse/rider combinations.
  2. Each horse/rider combination earning three scores from at least two different judges in one competition year at one level and division becomes eligible for an award. There is no minimum score required for National Yearly Points. (Please note there is a minimum score required in the Horse Performance Program to earn points)
  3. When two or more judges are scoring an individual test, the average of their scores will count as one score. The percentage score will be used as the point score for that test ridden (for example, 65.545 points are received for a test score of 65.545%). The top three scores (any lower scores are discarded) based on the above criteria will be added together for your total score for national awards.
  4. In case of a tie, the horse/rider with the highest single score is the winner; if the highest scores are the same, the next highest scores will be considered until the tie is broken.

DIVISIONS

  1. Pro: All competitors over the age of 18 who receive remuneration for riding, coaching of any rider, or training of any horse regardless of discipline.
  2. Amateur: All competitors who are no longer Juniors (see WSD 12.02 c), and who have not received remuneration for riding, coaching of any rider, or training any horse within the past three (3) years.
  3. Junior: Individuals are eligible as Junior Exhibitors until the end of the calendar year in which they reach the age of eighteen (18).
  4. Gaited: All competitors showing a gaited horse and will be further separated by Pro, Amateur and Junior.

SUBMISSION OF SCORES

  1. WSDAC is working with all nationally sanctioned shows to provide the results directly to WSDAC. This means that riders are NOT responsible for sending in their scores to WSDAC. Please keep a copy of your score sheets as all eligible scores will be posted on WSDAC’s membership website to allow members to verify. If there is a discrepancy, please submit a copy of your score sheet to WSDAC to validate.
  2. Riders must indicate to WSDAC which Division (Pro, Amateur, or Junior) they ride in. A test score may be submitted in one division only.
  3. If at any time during the year a rider’s division changes, they must inform WSDAC.
